Sky Pointer

What plane is that?

Point your phone at an aircraft and find out, live.

Sky Pointer uses your location and your phone's compass to work out which aircraft you are aiming at, using PlaneTrack's live ADS-B feed.

  • 01Step outside and hold your phone upright, in portrait.
  • 02Point the back of the phone at a plane in the sky.
  • 03See its callsign, type, altitude, speed and distance.

You will be asked for location and motion access. Both stay on your device; we only use them to match you with nearby aircraft. If your device has no compass, you get a nearest-planes list instead.
