What is a diversion?
A diversion is a flight landing somewhere other than its planned destination. Common reasons are weather at the destination, a sick passenger, a technical issue or a closed runway. PlaneTrack flags one when its route engine sees the aircraft heading for an airport other than its expected destination.
Event detected automatically from live ADS-B data. Times are UTC. Automated detections can occasionally misread routine operations.
