How we measure
- On time: Departure within 15 minutes of schedule, measured from FAA SWIM data as wheels-off time minus scheduled time, less each airport's median taxi time (so normal taxiing is not counted as delay).
- US scope: US airspace flights by scheduled airlines (operators with published routes); private and fractional operators excluded.
- Worldwide: Flight legs tracked by PlaneTrack's receivers and community ADS-B networks. Coverage is strongest in North America and Europe, so worldwide figures are as tracked, not totals.
- Events: Go-arounds and holding patterns are detected automatically from aircraft positions.
